Location Review: Mar del Plata
What’s the number one rule of Hollywood blockbusters?
The sequel must be bigger.
James Bond drives a normal car in Dr. No. And by Goldfinger, he’s speeding around in a high-tech spymobile with machine guns, oil slicks, and an ejector seat.
I’m worried that the same principle applies to escalating global tensions as we enter the U.S. election cycle. Conflicts and civil unrest will continue to increase. So, I’m staying far away from the United States for the rest of 2023, and all of 2024.
One place I recently visited was Mar del Plata, Argentina, an interesting seaside city.
Things To Do In Mar del Plata
Mar del Plata is a resort town of about 700,000 people. It’s a fairly large city with high rises, restaurants, a train station, and modern infrastructure.
Mar del Plata is located on the Atlantic Ocean. While the water is fairly cold, the city is located about 1,000 miles from Antarctica, it is swimmable. And surfing is incredibly popular here.
Also, there’s some cool local wildlife. I saw parakeets flying around the park.
