Intercontinental Exchange: Market-Beating Growth And Dividends
Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. ($ICE) is a wide-moat market-beater.
And, it’s an essential business. One that almost all of your investments depend on. No Intercontinental Exchange, no ETFs or blue chip stocks.
Allow me to explain…
ICE owns the New York Stock Exchange. And all 2,800 companies traded there must pay ICE an annual listing fee. Giving ICE investors second-hand exposure to everything from A10 Networks Inc, to Zoetis.
ICE also provides market infrastructure to Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
This is an interesting business model, because it generates revenue from other people’s financial activities. When commodity traders in Singapore sell a put option, ICE makes money. When a company is sold on the New York Stock Exchange, they pay ICE “rent” in the form of an annual listing fee.
