Selling options is incredibly lucrative.

If you do your homework, you can find low-risk contracts that pay 1% or more per week. And you can ride this gravy train for months on end before the market catches on.

In December and early January, I sold several out-of-the-money covered call options with January 19th expiration dates.

And I also had some weekly put options expiring at the same time.

Once these trades cleared, I used their profits to buy these high-yield and speculative dividend stocks…

1. Ecopetrol S.A. ($EC)

The highest yielder on this list, Ecopetrol is a Colombian energy stock that produces and refines oil. And, they’re essential for maintaining the country’s internal infrastructure.

This is an unloved stock in an unloved sector, in an unloved country.

NVIDIA Corporation is currently worth more than all the major oil companies — combined.

And the entire energy sector is cheap right now.

Oil sells for $73 a barrel. And many oil producers are making a $30 — $40 profit per barrel of oil, while still trading at rock bottom valuations. Just look at major players like Chevron and Exxon Mobil which are both valued at price to earnings…
