How To Build A $70 Million Dollar Blog
Ozy Media is a business that raised $70 million of “Smart money” from the likes of hedge funds and Goldman Sachs.
The company focused on its own website, YouTube, and an Amazon Prime self-publishing service (basically YouTube, but through Amazon’s video platform).
So basically a blog and two YouTube channels.
Pretty straightforward business, but there’s a catch.
Ozy is now in serious trouble as they are accused of committing fraud by inflating page views and even having one of their own executives pose as a YouTube employee to try and solicit more money from Wall Street.
While the company was pretending to generate huge profits, nobody was actually interested in their content.
Many Ozy YouTube videos have less than 50 total views. And the website was previously caught using illegal clicker services to falsify its traffic.
This is rookie “Make Money Online” stuff, yet it fooled Wall Street experts.
Because the Ozy scandal involves YouTube and online business, a lot of people have already covered the fraud aspects. So instead of rehashing this, today’s article lays out a few simple tips that you can use to build an online presence that’s far bigger and better than this $70 million flop.
