How I Gained 100,000 YouTube Subscribers In 180 Days
Last July, I won a YouTube Shorts prize and instantly decided to go big — aiming for 100,000 subscribers (and a Silver Creator Award) within the next 12 months.
Things went faster than expected. And I hit my goal in half that time.
Here are three lessons you can apply to your own content.
1. Don’t Piddle For Peanuts
Imagine two aspiring baseball players. One sets a goal to hit homeruns. The other decides he’ll never swing, and instead builds his strategy around occasionally getting walked to first base.
Who’s more likely to go pro?
If you want to create content professionally, your goal is get seen by as many people as possible.
And everything you produce should be centered around this goal.
Every time I shoot a new video, I start with the goal of making a viral hit.
Not every video goes viral. But some do. And those are the ones that drive 99% of my YouTube success.
