Ivory, Crisco, Tide, Bold, Cheer, Crest, Pampers, Downy, Cascade, Dawn, Prell, Zest — P&G brand names are typically one or two syllables long, easy to pronounce, distinctive and easy to remember. They often have connotations that may help establish the benefit of the brand early in its life — such as Downy, which connotes softness, and Pampers, which connotes caring and comfort.
